Quickwit, or Kwits, as he is called by Stormbreak, is Stormbreak's godfather (or animal equivalent of one) appointed by her father. He had heard news of a new danger, growing in the south, led by a terrible warlord, that had been cutting a swathe of death and destruction as it moved north. Kwits had journeyed far to warn Stormbreak's family of the danger, but he was too late. He arrived to a murder scene. He was able to track down Stormbreak before she perished in the elements and he took to raising her. He raised Stormbreak to cherish life and is responsible for Stormbreak's deep appreciation of the natural world and her outlook that the world is full of more good people than bad. However, he is later killed by Genvar's forces, which had only continued to grow, leading Stormbreak to embark on a quest to defeat the warlord.
